I 'm Korean painter.
I build my paintings by layering mineral pigments on traditional Korean paper, allowing time and emotion to settle on the surface slowly. My work begins from a shared sensibility found in hellebores and naïve Minhwa.
The hellebore blooms at the end of winter with a lowered gaze, quietly enduring its own time. Naive Minhwa, in a different way, reveals simplicity through unrefined lines, flat forms, and free composition. Neither seeks perfection or display. Instead, both speak through restraint and reduction.
I focus on this shared attitude. Lowered forms, slight imbalance, and empty space are not absence, but places where emotion can remain. Within them, time slows down and subtle feelings begin to appear.
The restrained colors of the hellebore and the simple language of the naive Minhwa move in different ways, yet toward the same direction. I try to hold this quiet tension and subtle flow within my work.
